Assessment of the existing embankments of river Axios in the part right upstream of the Elis irrigation dam and the SHP Eleousa.
Specifically :

Calculation of the water profile along the river in the particular part (~3 Km upstream of the dam) for different flows and operation conditions. Comparison with corresponding flow water profiles for conditions before the construction of the SHP of Eleousa
Assessment of the existing embankments and protection works
Assessment of the new operation conditions due to the construction of the SHP of Eleousa, especially during low flows
Assessment of the flow conditions during river flows higher than the design flow of the SHP
Estimation of water flows through the embankments and their foundation
Assessment of the drainage network of the town of Eleousa, west of the river Axios
Suggestion of measures to be taken for improvement of the operation conditions of the river, the safety of the embankments and the drainage network of Eleousa under the new conditions of the operation of the of SHP Eleousa
